Borealis Psychedelic Science Summit 2025

On the Future of Psychedelic Research and Treatment

On September 26–27, 2025, the Borealis Psychedelic Science Summit will take place in Stockholm. Organized by the Swedish Network for Psychedelic Science and Norrsken Mind, the conference invites researchers, clinicians, policymakers, and industry pioneers from around the world to discuss the latest developments in psychedelic science and therapy.

This two-day event, hosted in the capital of Sweden, brings together leading experts and decision-makers in the field. It will serve as a platform for discussions on how treatment methods, ethics, and the practical implementation of psychedelic therapies can evolve in step with this rapidly growing area of research. The conference will be held at the Elite Hotel Marina Tower, beautifully situated at Stockholm's beautiful inlet, offering an inspiring setting for discussions and networking.

Following a global surge in research on substances such as psilocybin and MDMA—which, in multiple studies, have shown promising results against depression, addiction, and post-traumatic stress, among other conditions—psychiatry is on the cusp of one of the most significant innovations in modern times. Borealis Psychedelic Science Summit 2025 aims to highlight both the opportunities and challenges in psychedelic research, from regulatory issues and methodological hurdles to the ethical and societal aspects of access and integration into healthcare systems.

"Research on psychedelic therapies continues to accelerate globally, and in Sweden, the field is slowly gaining momentum. We look forward to welcoming leading global experts to Stockholm to discuss the future of the psychedelic field, how remaining challenges can be addressed, and how promising research findings can be translated into safe, effective, and accessible treatments,"

says the organizing team at the Swedish Network for Psychedelic Science and Norrsken Mind.

Event highlights include:

- A scientific program focused on evidence-based research lays the groundwork for future research, with leading researchers and clinicians sharing results from ongoing studies.

- Discussions on policy, legislation, and responsible implementation. How can we ensure safe, ethical, and equitable access?

- Showcase the expanding Nordic research and networking efforts aimed at strengthening regional collaborations and fostering exchanges with international stakeholders.

- Interactive workshops, panel discussions, and networking opportunities for researchers, industry representatives, healthcare professionals, and policymakers to meet and collaborate.

“We see this conference as a unique opportunity to gather innovation and expertise in a rapidly advancing field worldwide. In addition to showcasing groundbreaking research results, we also want to open the floor to vital discussions about ethics, legislation, and healthcare, everything needed to ensure that psychedelic psychiatry develops in a socially and scientifically responsible way,”

says Emma Christersson, co-managing Director of Norrsken Mind.
