About SPF

The Swedish Psychiatric Association (SPF) is an interest association for doctors who are mainly active in psychiatry. The association is both a specialist association and a section within the Swedish Society of Medicine.

The association (SPF) is a member of the Nordic Psychiatric Associations, which organizes the Nordic Psychiatric Congress and publishes the scientific journal Nordic Journal of Psychiatry, which is published online, and which members have access to. The Nordic Psychiatrist is also published by the Nordic Psychiatric Associations and reflects the field of psychiatric interest in the Nordic countries.

SPF is a member of EPA, the European Psychiatric Association, where most of the national psychiatric associations in Europe are represented. SPF is a member of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), as well as a member of WPA, the World Psychiatric Association, which is the worldwide psychiatric organization.

SPF's new vision is "Holistic Approach and Collaboration", which expresses our ambition to encompass many aspects of psychiatry in respectful collaboration with others.
